Why Hire a Routemaster Bus for Your Next Corporate Event?

Make a Lasting Impression – Classic Routemaster Hire for Corporate Events, Staff Celebrations & Client Entertainment

When organising a corporate event, business dinner or staff celebration, transport is often one of the last things considered. However, the way guests travel to an event can make a significant difference to their overall experience.

Hiring a traditional red London Routemaster bus offers businesses something completely different from ordinary transport. Instead of simply moving employees or clients between locations, a classic Routemaster turns the journey into a memorable part of the occasion.

At Brian Jones Bus & Coach Hire, we provide authentic 1960s Routemaster buses for corporate events throughout London, Kent, Essex and the South East.

Whether you're planning an evening meal, entertaining important clients or rewarding employees for their hard work, here are some reasons why a Routemaster could be the perfect choice.

1. Make a Memorable First Impression on Clients

First impressions matter in business.

Arranging for clients or business partners to travel aboard a traditional London Routemaster adds an unexpected and memorable touch to your event.

Rather than asking guests to organise their own transport, imagine welcoming them aboard an iconic red London bus, complete with its traditional interior, classic appearance and uniformed conductor.

It's an experience that can help your company stand out, particularly when entertaining overseas visitors who associate the Routemaster with London.

The journey itself becomes a talking point before your guests have even reached their destination.

2. Perfect for Company Dinners and Staff Nights Out

Organising a company dinner can involve coordinating transport for dozens of employees, particularly when the restaurant or venue is some distance from the workplace.

A private Routemaster provides a practical and enjoyable solution.

Your team can be collected from an agreed location, transported together to the restaurant or event venue, and collected afterwards for the return journey.

This is particularly suitable for:

• Company Christmas parties and festive dinners

• Staff appreciation evenings

• Retirement celebrations

• Team meals and restaurant bookings

• Annual company celebrations

• Awards evenings and corporate functions

Travelling together makes the occasion feel like a group celebration from the moment everyone boards.

It also reduces the need for employees to arrange separate taxis or coordinate multiple vehicles.

3. Reward Your Staff With Something Different

Recognising employees for their dedication and hard work is an important part of maintaining a positive workplace.

A staff celebration doesn't have to involve an elaborate event to be memorable.

Hiring a classic Routemaster for a restaurant trip, afternoon excursion or evening out can turn an ordinary staff gathering into something special.

The distinctive interior, traditional seating and nostalgic atmosphere provide a refreshing change from everyday travel.

It's also an opportunity for colleagues from different departments to spend time together away from the workplace.

4. Keep Everyone Together and Make Planning Easier

One of the main challenges when organising corporate events is ensuring that everyone arrives at the right location and at the agreed time.

When employees or guests make their own way to an event, delays, parking difficulties and unfamiliar destinations can complicate arrangements.

With private Routemaster hire, a company can arrange coordinated collection and drop-off points, helping to keep the group together.

Our experienced team can assist with planning the journey, discussing suitable routes, collection times and the practical requirements of your event.

For larger gatherings, we can also provide additional transport from our wider coach and bus fleet.

5. An Excellent Choice for Corporate Hospitality

If your business regularly entertains clients, suppliers or business partners, providing an enjoyable travel experience can add value to the occasion.

Classic Routemaster buses are particularly suitable for transporting guests to:

• Corporate hospitality events

• Sporting occasions and race days

• Business receptions and networking evenings

• Product launches

• Theatre visits and entertainment venues

• Restaurants and private dining events

• Company anniversaries and milestone celebrations

Whether your guests are travelling across London or attending an event elsewhere in Kent or Essex, a Routemaster provides an instantly recognisable and distinctive form of transport.

6. Create a Unique Experience for Overseas Clients

For international business visitors, travelling on a traditional London bus can be an attraction in itself.

The Routemaster is recognised around the world as one of London's most iconic vehicles.

Businesses hosting overseas clients can incorporate a private Routemaster journey into their hospitality programme, perhaps combining a sightseeing tour with transport to a restaurant or corporate venue.

A private London sightseeing experience can be arranged to suit the group's itinerary, with an experienced guide available on request.

It offers visitors an enjoyable introduction to London while giving the hosting business an opportunity to create a memorable experience.

7. Make Your Company Event More Personal

Corporate events offer businesses an opportunity to express their personality and create a memorable atmosphere.

Our traditional Routemaster buses can be personalised with optional features to suit the occasion.

For example, a customised destination blind displaying your company name, event title or a special message can provide a unique finishing touch.

Depending on the event arrangements, drinks service and other extras may also be available.

For product launches and promotional campaigns, our buses can also be used for specialist branding and advertising activities, subject to the requirements of the booking.

These options can turn your transport into a distinctive part of the event.

8. A Brilliant Backdrop for Company Photographs

A classic red London Routemaster provides an excellent backdrop for group photographs.

Whether your company is celebrating an anniversary, recognising employees or entertaining important customers, the bus adds colour and character to event photography.

These photographs can also be useful for company newsletters, social media posts and internal communications, helping employees remember and share the experience.

For businesses looking for an occasion that feels different from the usual corporate function, a Routemaster can make a lasting visual impression.

9. Professional Driver and Conductor Included

Hiring a classic Routemaster is about more than the vehicle itself.

Our Routemaster hire includes a professional driver and conductor, helping to provide a traditional and enjoyable experience for passengers.

The conductor assists with boarding and passenger arrangements, adding to the atmosphere of travelling on an authentic London bus.

Our team will discuss your itinerary and practical requirements when planning the booking.

You can learn more about these iconic vehicles, including photographs and further information, on our Routemaster Bus Hire Fleet Page.

10. A Corporate Experience That Doesn't Have to Break the Budget

Businesses sometimes assume that hiring a traditional Routemaster will be prohibitively expensive.

However, when transporting a larger group, the cost of hiring one vehicle can be an attractive alternative to arranging multiple taxis or individual travel.

The final quotation depends on the date, collection points, journey distance, timings and any optional extras required.

At Brian Jones Bus & Coach Hire, we provide individually tailored quotations so you can compare the cost against your event budget.
